    2. I hope this comment gets pinned. To those who are not able to understand, let me give you some background. This song has been composed by Sri Jagannatha Dasa (who is one the four Prominent sages who composed songs on the Lord Vitthala of Pandharpur) on His Holiness Sri Raghavendra Swamy many many years after He had already taken samadhi. For those who do not know...Shri Raghavendra swamy is the re-incarnation of Bhakta Prahlad son of the demon king Hiranyakashapu. Hiranyakashapu had 4 sons. (Bhakta) Prahlada, Salhaada, Alhaada, and Anhullada. Sri Jagannatha daasa is the re-incarnation of Bhakta Prahlad's younger brother Salhaada. Not only Sri jagannatha dasa was able to have His divine darshan, he even used to even speak to Him. Sri Jagannatha dasa could not contain the excitement and shared it among people that he could speak to His Holiness. When people asked to prove it, he tried conversing but this time, Sri Raghavendra did not speak to him. At that time, Sri Jagannatha dasa felt humiliated and composed this song in sorrow.

      Following is the translation:
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute, Oh the ruler of the world, who will care for me now? Srikara Raghavendra

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?

Previously you used to converse with me freely (like brothers in arms),
Now you have made me appear like a fool in front of people
If you did not want, why did you hold my hand,
to throw me among evil people?

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
      Why have you become mute,
Oh the ruler of the world, who will care for me now? Srikara Raghavendra

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?

If you dont protect me, Oh king of Yogis, Raghavendra,
How will I cross this ocean of Bhavasagar (referring to the circle of life and suffering) There is no one more merciful than you,
there is no one more sinner than me. your highness and benevolence...abandoning me??

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?

There is no one more merciful than you,
there is no one more sinner than me.
your highness and benevolence... abandoning me??
You are the mother and father for me... Forgive me...for I will always be seeking refuge in you

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute, Oh the ruler of the world, who will care for me now? Srikara Raghavendra

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
I have always ever believed and sought refuge in you.
If you leave me then who will take care of me?
You are the Lord! I am an orphan sire!
You are the Lord! I am an orphan sire!
Oh enemy of sinners, servant of Lord Jagannatha Vitthala

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
Why have you become mute Oh guru?
      Why have you become mute,
Oh the ruler of the world, who will care for me now? Srikara Raghavendra

Why have you become mute Oh guru?
      Why have you become mute?
Why have you become mute? Why have you become mute?
