The song Tarakka Bindige is composed by Sri Purandara dasaru. He was in the time of Vijayanagara Empire in Karnataka. His original name was Srinivasa Nayaka. Basically he was a rich merchant. Some incidents promoted him to turn towards bhakti & he gave up all his wealth. He has contributed lot to the Carnatic music as well as dasa sahitya.  He is known as the father of carnatic music.He is one of the great music scholar, famous composer & also singer of devotional songs. he was the great devotee of God vishnu. Purandara Vittala is his Ankita nama.
